Prankster takes out obituary in newspaper to mark ‘death of British democracy’ over Brexit

A PRANKSTER has taken out an obituary in a newspaper to mark the death of British democracy over Brexit.

The joker took out an advert in The Times today saying it was “with sad regret that Democracy died quietly in her sleep at 11pm on 29 March 2019”.

The death notice, which appeared alongside other births and real deaths in today’s paper, read: “Democracy campaigned for the rule of law, human rights and free elections.

“She listened to everyone and favourite the majority in all her decisions.

“She will be sorely missed. God have mercy on her soul.”

The notice would have cost £87 to put in.

Many Brexiteers are fuming that Theresa May’s now delayed Brexit twice.

Instead of leaving the EU on March 29 as she’s been insisting for two years, the PM has wrangled a six-month extension to Brexit for warring politicians to finally work out what they want to do.

But leavers took to the streets on what would have been our exit day to show politicians that Britain still wants to leave the EU.

And the Tories are set for a battering in the polls in next month’s local and EU elections as a result of the ongoing standoff.
