Will Boris Johnson run for prime minister?

BORIS Johnson has been one of the most vocal voices during the Brexit process and some have tipped him to become the next Prime Minister.

We explain if he will run for prime minister and what has been said about it.

The Brexiteer has not categorically said himself if would run for the top job.

On December 8, 2018 Andrew Marr asked if Boris would run for prime minister.

His response was: “I will give an absolute categorical promise that I will continue to advocate what I think is the most sensible, sensible plan to get out of this mess.”

At the time he refused to elaborate on what the plan was.

In 2016 after David Cameron resigned following the EU referendum, Boris’ electoral bid was scuppered by Michael Gove, which severely damaged his “brand”.
