Who’s resigned from the Labour Party and will it split over Brexit?

A THREATENED split in the Labour party came closer after the dramatic resignation of seven senior MPs.

The seven, who have formed the breakaway Independent Group, quit in protest at Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn’s handling of Brexit and anti-Semitism. Here’s the lowdown.

On February 18, 2019, seven MPs held a press conference to announce they were quitting the Labour party.

It was the most significant breakaway since the formation of the Social Democratic Party in the early 1980s.

The rebels are:
