Boris Johnson reveals he COULD back Theresa May’s Brexit deal if she guarantees UK will quit backstop by next election
BORIS Johnson will back Theresa May’s Brexit deal as long as she puts a time limit on the hated backstop plan, he said today.
The top Brexiteer revealed he will throw his weight behind the PM if she secures an agreement that Britain won’t be trapped in the backstop beyond the next General Election.

It came as he blasted Mrs May’s existing offer, saying even Jeremy Corbyn’s ideas make more sense.
The ex-Foreign Secretary sensationally claimed that the Labour boss’s plan had more “logic” as at least Britain would be “sitting around the table” on deciding future trade policy.
Mrs May’s idea would mean we would “have no say” and we would “effectively be a colony of Brussels”, Mr Johnson said this morning.
He told the BBC: “Jeremy Corbyn at least has the logic that the UK would somehow be sitting around the table.”
But speaking to a think-tank in Westminster later, Boris admitted that he is ready to back the PM as long as she secures a major change to the backstop so Britain doesn’t get stuck in the EU customs union.
